Spring Wreath with Natural Materials – easy to make

Spring has arrived with rainbows of colors, celebration, and life. Time to put away our winter coats and boots and change our home decor with beautiful pastel colors and cute accents. This spring wreath with natural materials is so easy to make, and it leaves my home with a lovely aroma of flowers.

Spring Wreath with Natural Materials

I love to decorate my home, and spring comes with colorful flowers, bunnies, and bees!

I used to have a box for each season of the year filled with decorations. However, since I started my journey to a more eco-friendly and natural lifestyle, I began to declutter my home from things we don’t use anymore and buy more consciously.

Decluttering has helped me to live a simpler life with fewer things to pick up from the floor or table all day long.

I have to say, one area that was difficult for me to declutter was my decorations box and crafts drawers because I love them so much. But then I realized that I had things in there that I hadn’t used in years, and as time passed, our lifestyle changed, and our decor style changed as well.

So, I decided to look for alternatives that allow me to decorate without adding more items to the house or buy more eco-friendly things that can be used and reused in different ways and on different occasions.

Like when I did my centerpiece with natural materials last year for the fall season, and then I reused some of the decorations for Christmas. And now I’m reusing them in spring as well!

Why I’m making my wreath instead of buying one already made?

I’m making my wreath at home because I enjoy creating new things. Craft is relaxing for me and is a time that I spend with my daughter, because she loves to make crafts too, and that is priceless.

Another reason that I’m making this wreath at home is that it is eco-friendly. I can reuse the same base for every season instead of buying one for every occasion. This also is space-saving because I don’t need to store four different wreaths in the storage.

Dried flowers and grasses

mix of dry flowers

I love flowers, and I like to add them to my decorations. Since I started making my decorations instead of buying them, I decided to collect dry flowers that I could use on different occasions. They are natural, so no plastic add it, and some of them have a delicious aroma, like lavender and eucalyptus.

I have them all around the house! I like the eucalyptus in our bathroom, lavender in our kitchen, and dried wheat in my bedroom, to mention a few.

Sometimes I get fresh flowers as a present, and I try to save as much as possible. I like to dry roses’ petals and add them as decor in different places.

Important tip: Some dried flowers are seasonal. If you like to have a variety of dried flowers at home, it is a good idea to look for them when they are in season. Like when I wanted to buy dried wheat, I found them easily when the fall season started.

Useful tips

  1. I bought this all-natural wreath in Michaels Store; I use it and reuse it several times. If you don’t have a Michaels Store close by, here I found a similar wreath on Amazon.
  2. This wreath can be modified in different ways. I added a stuffed bunny that was from my daughter went she was a baby. You can look around the house for different items to add in the middle.
  3. I try to use the least amount of glue on the natural wreath as much as possible so it can last longer. I used jute instead to attach the eucalyptus.
  4. When working with eucalyptus, it is easier to round them when they are fresh than dry. I got mine at the supermarket so it was fresh when I worked with it.
