This was a project my husband took on a couple of years ago. He tried different methods, and today we have a healthy and abundance of microgreens growing at home.

These little vegetables are very easy to grow and fun, and they are delicious, which adds a nice flavor to soups, salads, sandwiches, scrambled eggs, tacos, hamburgers, and so many other dishes we can use.

What are microgreens?

Microgreens are cute tiny greens similar to the plants we grow in the garden, like broccoli, lettuce, green peas, mustard, radish, sunflower, etc.  However, the main difference is that we harvest them in about 8-15 days after sowing and grow 1-3 inches.

Which seeds can we use to grow Microgreens?

We have tried different kinds of seeds. I will mention the ones we have grown, but you can always look for more varieties.

These seeds come in small bags, but we get many harvests from them. You can buy these seeds in different places. I will add the link attached to the name where we buy ours.

Why do we grow microgreens?

We love eating salads, and we love the taste these tiny delicate greens bring to the table. Because we use a small amount every day to mix with our dishes, we produce just enough for our family. This also means it doesn’t take too much space in our small apartment.

My husband created an excellent process in which he has a tray with completely grown vegetables and a second one has halfway grown, so we have microgreens constantly.

This is also a great way to eat fresh vegetables in the winter season!

Then, after 7 to 14 days, we can harvest them and add your fresh and healthy microgreens to your dishes.
