Homemade Guacamole – Quick and Delicious

This Homemade Guacamole – Quick and Delicious recipe will be a winner in your house! This homemade creamy and full of nutrients dish will be the center of your get-together, game night, movie night, or add it to your Tacos.

Guacamole was first developed in Mexico, and its basic ingredients are ripe avocado, lime juice, salt, cilantro, jalapenos pepper, and onions.

Now that we know where Guacamole came from and how it is made, this recipe has variants that we really love and want to share.

Why do I make Guacamole at home?

Simple, I know what it is inside this dip (no additives), and I can adapt it to our own taste. For example, we are not a big fan of hot spicy food; therefore, I will add jalapeno to the recipe as optional. After you know the main ingredients, you can adapt them to your taste.

Also, this is a great dish for our gardeners to use your tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, and onions directly from your garden.

Why is this a winner for me?

It is so easy, delicious, and quick to make that it is a winner for those days that I don’t want to stay hours in the kitchen to prepare something for a get-together or watch a movie at home.

How to avoid my guacamole from turning brown?

If you prepare guacamole an hour before serving, leave the avocado seed inside the mix. This will avoid for the guacamole from turning brown quickly. I always cut the avocado the last.

Useful tips

  1. To make Guacamole healthier, you can substitute chips or tortillas with some vegetables like carrots and celery.
  2. I have read that some people add olive oil or lemon juice on top of the guacamole to keep it from browning in the refrigerator; I haven’t tried it yet as we eat it all!.
  3. As we know, vegetables are better eaten fresh, so I prefer to make just the amount we will eat at the moment.
  4. I like to cut the avocado in small squares because it will get softer when I mix everything, but it will keep some consistency. If you prefer, it can be mashed.
  5. I peeled off the skin and took the seeds out of the tomatoes before dicing them.
  6. Each kind of onion will add a sweet or sharp taste to the guacamole, so it will depend on your own taste and which one to use for this dish.
