DIY Jute Wall Decor – Beautiful and eco-friendly

This DIY Jute Wall decor craft will enlighten your bedroom or living room. Made with jute and rose petals over a canvas. A beautiful eco-friendly craft for the entire family.

Since I was looking to add some kind of art to my bedroom, I decided to make one myself. If you have followed me, you know that I love making crafts. Creating your own art has so many benefits, from relaxation to creativity.

A white canvas allows you to design anything that you are looking for and customize it with the colors and materials you like to use.

I like to use eco-friendly materials like jute and dried flowers to decorate my home. I also included tiny pine cones I collected last winter.

By using natural materials, we bring fewer toxins to our homes. Also, using materials we already have at home makes this project inexpensive.

In this case, I wanted to recreate a tree, so I printed a design I found. The printed design is only a guide. You can print any design you desire and change it or modify it using your imagination. I will recommend using easy figures because you need to fill all the gaps with thin jute.

Art doesn’t need to be perfect; it is the creativity and love you put in that really count. This is also a project you can make with your kids. Let them find natural materials outdoor to add to their wall decor or make one themselves, like a small bee made of paper, and color it.

Which glue did I use for this project?

For this DIY jute wall decor, I used permanent fabric glue. I tried to glue the jute with hot glue, but it fell out easily. The “permanent fabric glue” sticks to the jute firmly.

The only thing you need to take into consideration is that it takes 24 hours to dry completely. Because I was making this craft without any rush, I glue the jute the first day and decorated it the following day.

Does the canvas need to be this sized?

The canvas doesn’t need to be 24″ x 36″. You can customize this wall decor to the size you desire. Round canvas looks beautiful as well and if you want to make it as a craft for your kids, you can buy small sizes and create a collage in their bedroom.
