We love to go outside, walk in nature, go to the beach or the pool and enjoy sunny days! Because we like outdoor family activities, our hair gets dry quickly.

As I was trying to make more natural products at home, I started looking at different DIY recipes; I had so many questions that I began to look for more information.

What is the difference between Coconut Milk vs. Coconut Oil?

Coconut oil and Coconut milk are widely used in hair products, but how are they made? And this is what I found out.

Coconut Oil: This is made from the flesh of the coconut (which is the white part inside the fruit). Coconut oil can be made in different ways.

Coconut Milk: It’s a mix of coconut flesh with water. It contains the oils, vitamins, and minerals from coconut flesh.

What is in this Coconut Hair Mask?

When I prepare any product for my home, I like to look at the benefits of each ingredient and see if I can make something that will work for all of us based on my family’s needs, so I decided to try coconut milk. I also try to get as many organic ingredients s possible.

Coconut Milk is filled with vitamins and minerals. It moisturizes and nourishes the hair. I used canned coconut milk for this recipe because it contains fewer additives than the one we drink.

Avocado Oil is filled with vitamins and minerals. It contains antioxidants and moisturizers.

Honey has humectant and emollient properties.

Rosemary Essential Oil (optional) may help to improve hair growth.

Lavender Essential Oil (optional) deep conditions the hair and promote relaxation.

What can I do with the rest of the coconut milk can?

This recipe only required a quarter of the coconut milk can, so I use the rest in delicious recipes like Coconut Rice or Creamy Fennel and Mushroom Soup.
